DONEGAL’S CHLOE AND Sam Magee made history today, by winning a first ever medal for Ireland at the European Badminton Championships.
The siblings overcame Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Zieba of Poland in their quarter-final in Denmark, to book their place in the final four, and ensure they go home with at least a bronze medal.

Today’s result follows on from their victory over Bastian Kersaudy and Lea Palermo of France yesterday, in which they rallied back from a set down to take the win.
The pair now go on to contest for a silver, or perhaps even a gold medal in the tournament this weekend.
